Cornbread Montclair

A delicious hidden gem! It's easy to get caught up in all the good food of Montclair but for southern comfort, this is your spot! We got the 3 piece and 2 side which was more than enough food. Mac & cheese was a must, collard green were delicious, yams tasted like Thanksgiving! Chicken had a thin layer of crispy breading which was perfect and so flavorful. We also got the Uptown tea which was their mix of homemade sweet tea and lemonade, so good. But the star of the show is the cornbread. It absolutely did not disappoint. Simona took our orders and she was just the sweetest. They are also open every day of the year including holidays!

1st customer, and I will be back very soon! The food was great. Ms. Simone was very welcoming the second I walked in the door. Throughout my entire time here, she was super hospitable. Thank you for the great food and service!

Upon arrival we received a warm welcome by Simone, she was very helpful for our first time trying Cornbread. My mom sister and I ordered three meals with drinks, coming out to be an average of $24 a person, which we don’t mind since we love supporting local businesses everywhere. The pork ribs which were tender were literally falling of the bones paired great with the Mac and cheese and yams. The baked chicken was fantastic with yellow rice. The fried chicken went well with some ketchup and hot sauce you can ask with your food. While the lemonade was really good, my favorite drink was the uptown I’m glad I ordered it. We took an apple cobbler and peach cobbler to go with a second uptown on our way out. Again Simone was very warm, kind, and helpful proving anything we needed during my family’s and I first visit. Highly recommended and when you do visit don’t forget to leave a review they deserve every good word!
